The Story Of A Fashion Entrepreneur- From Working Full Time As A Teacher to Running A Clothing Brand!

About myself and my business...

Well I’m a fashion entrepreneur and in addition to that, I’m an author of two children’s book and adult self-help motivation books. I enjoy writing business guide resources for young adults and women who want to become entrepreneurs.

My main motivation behind starting my business...

I love fashion and writing. Though they are really different extremes. To be able to enjoy both you need to know how to do both – to be business minded and to be creative. I've worked in the fashion industry as an intern since I was a teenager so the dream and desire was always there, despite pursuing a career as a teacher. Someone how teaching lead me back to my passion of fashion.

Challenges I have faced...

Access to funds was tough and limited being a mother of three so I ended up working very hard as a full-time teacher and selling candles as a side gig and using that money to grow my clothing brand and to put into my other projects.

Overcoming those challenges...

I would say by being creative and not taking no for an answer. It’s an old cliché but where there is a will there is a way.

Balancing work with relaxation and family...

At times, it is hard to switch off but sometimes you just have to. Even when I am working and get slightly stressed out I remember what I am working for. In addition I know that to really have anything of longevity you need to work hard for it. When I relax I try to switch off completely and enjoy time with my family, my children, myself. I won’t do any work and can just enjoy those quality moments. You have to compartmentalize work and play. It gets difficult when you try to mix them together.
